Description:
I'm a good call for trumpet in any style as soloist or section player. I don't have super high lead chops, but I'm otherwise very reliable and musical across all styles.
I'm a good arranger, too, having taken 8 semesters of jazz arranging with Doug Richards at VCU, which was essentially the Berkeley arranging tract. I've put those chops to work extensively in a variety of settings, perhaps most notably as one of the primary horn section arrangers for The Mavericks. I've had 2 works performed by the Nashville Jazz Orchestra on their writers' nights, and I've done piles of charts for various jazz and commercial ensembles.
Other than that, I'm just your average super-tasteful 58-year-old dude with 42 years of pro experience having played with a very long list of major and minor artists and countless commercial and club gigs in literally dozens of different bands.
Resume / Bio:
