Resume / Bio:
Rachel Rodriguez grew up in Michigan, belting out traditional Mariachi and Country music, in her father’s band. He was her biggest influence, and always encouraged her to embrace and infuse all that she is into her music and songwriting. She honed her skills singing in honky tonks, at family events, fiestas and festivals. After years of singing along side her father, Rachel decided it was time to branch out to find her own voice, which brought her to Nashville, TN.
Rachel is entrenched in the Nashville music scene. She uses music to celebrate her Latino culture and build community. She has established herself, in “Music City”, as an enchanting front woman. Rachel has taken her musical roots and created a style of her own, shining a light on Nashville’s diverse musical community. She partners with many of Nashville’s Arts & Education Organizations who are seeking to add culturally diverse programming, such as The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, The Nashville Public Library, Nashville Public Television, Cheekwood and others. She’s been granted awards from the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Tennessee Latin American Chamber of Commerce, and Metro Arts for her Entrepreneurship in Music, Community, and Education.
Rachel Rodriguez is the creator and founder of “Songs for My Little Amigos”. Inspired by the desire to introduce her own children to Spanish and their Mexican heritage, Rachel wrote and recorded a bilingual children’s album called “Songs for My Little Amigos”. After the release of her children’s CD, she created a Bilingual Music and Movement program to accompany and enhance the music. She stays very busy conducting workshops, bilingual storytimes, and presenting her program at local schools, libraries, and museums.
Rachel is also a co-founder and co-creator of Magenta Expression, a performance and life coaching program. She shares her experience, knowledge, and resources with creatives, to support them on their creative, professional, and personal journey.
In addition to Rachel’s roles as wife, mother, teaching artist, coach, and performer; she is a member of the Women’s Music Business Association and a mentor for Girls Write Nashville, GrammyU and Metro Arts Community Arts Leaders of Nashville. She also serves on the board of directors for The Theater Bug, The Cremona Strings, and The Entrepreneur Latina Leaders of America (E.L.L.A.).
Rachel is passionate about nurturing creativity, promoting culture appreciation, and sharing her love of the Performing Arts. Nothing makes her happier than watching people, of ALL ages, experience the joy of music and the arts, as a community.
