I play electric and acoustic bass both live and in the studio, have engineered and produced records, and enjoy doing all of those things.
Resume / Bio:
Dave Martin is a producer, engineer, and plays electric and acoustic bass. As a producer and engineer, he’s worked with award winning s has recorded symphony orchestras and country music legends, and has performed with rock and roll icons and western swing bands. Dave is a Texan who lived for many years in Nashville before relocating to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 2016.
As a producer/engineer, Dave worked with artists ranging from the Old Crow Medicine Show, the Dead Pickers Society, and the Fisk Jubilee singers to Porter Wagoner, The Ventures’ Nokie Edwards and Hee Haw’s Lulu Roman. Dave owned Nashville’s Java Jive Studio for close to 25 years.
Dave has has played (either live or in the studio) with artists as diverse as Robben Ford, Lynn Anderson, Russ Taff, Robert Earl Keen, Billy Cobham, The Boxtops, Carl Verheyen, Shelley West, Ritchie Faulkner (Judas Priest), Jack Greene, Adrian Belew, Rick Neilsen (Cheap Trick), Felix Cavaliere's Rascals, Eric Johnson, Robbie Fulks, Steve Vai, and The Coasters.
Dave is a member of the Western Swing Hall of Fame, both as a historian of the genre and for the CD’s he’s produced, played on, or engineered for the Time Jumpers, Carolyn Martin, John England and the Western Swingers, The Titan Hot Seven, Rory Hoffman and other swing groups.
