Resume / Bio:
Suzanne Rohrer grew up in Owensboro, KY and began studying classical violin at eight-years-old. She immediately excelled in violin earning her the "concert-mistress" position in several orchestras throughout the area. As Suzanne matured, her love for music grew and she began exploring different genres of music. With the help of a local KY fiddle player, she began competing in fiddle contests and winning ribbons in many. Suzanne attended the University of Louisville on a music scholarship for violin and began "honkey-tonkin" on the weekends, playing fiddle. When hearing of an opening in Pigeon Forge, TN for a fiddle player Suzanne jumped at the opportunity to audition and got the part. After performing a season at Dollywood, Suzanne packed up and headed to music city.
Nashville, TN became Suzanne's home in 2001. She soon started playing fiddle with bands and has performed and/or toured with various artists including; Lorrie Morgan, Joe Diffie, Vince Gill, Tracey Lawrence, Julie Reeves, Rebecca Lynn Howard, Mindy McCready, Elizabeth Cook, Doug Stone, The Wreckers, and Jeff Keith of Tesla! Suzanne has performed in France, Sweden and Japan as well as playing the Ryman Auditorium and the Grand Ole Opry. Somewhere along the line, she has become known as the "fiddlequeen".
In early 2009, Suzanne began playing fiddle for recording artist Colt Ford. Performing over 200 shows a year, she feels as though she has found her home. Suzanne is a featured part of the high-energy country show and her passion for music shows. Not only is Suzanne heard at every live show, but also many of Colt's recordings, including, "Live From The Suwannee River Jam", "Country Is As Country Does" (CD/DVD), and "Chicken & Biscuits", which debuted on Billboard at #8. In addition to these recordings, she has her own CD, "Fiddle Pickin' Good", available online only and hopes to record a sophomore CD in the future.
